Agafay desert
The Agafay is a landscape of bare, rolling hills a short drive from Marrakech, with the Atlas Mountains on the horizon and, on clear days, the snow still on them. There are two ways we arrange a visit: an afternoon by the pool with lunch, or an evening that runs from the pool through the sunset to dinner under the stars.
Both are open to everyone, whether or not you are staying in one of our villas. Each page explains how the day runs and what to know before you book.

The Agafay is open all year. In the hot months the evening is the better choice: the pool and the hills in the soft light of the late afternoon, then the sunset, rather than the full sun of the middle of the day.
Our guide to when to visit Marrakech sets out the seasons month by month, with the long-term average temperatures.
We pick you up at your villa or at any address in Marrakech and drive you to the camp. The transfer is charged in addition to the pass, and the evening ends at your door, villa, riad or hotel.
If you would rather keep a car and a driver for the whole day, see our private driver page. For everything else around the visit, from a table on your return to a chef at the villa, our concierge team arranges it.
There is no programme to follow at the camp. Some guests spend the whole time by the water; others add a quad ride or a camel ride nearby in the late afternoon. Tell us what interests your group and we put the afternoon together.
Between 30 and 45 minutes by car, depending on where you set off from in the city and on the camp.
No. It is a landscape of bare, stony hills rather than dunes, which is why it is sometimes called a stone desert. The Atlas Mountains are on the horizon, and on clear days you can see the snow on them.
No. Both the day pass and the night pass bring you back to Marrakech the same day. The night pass ends at 11:00 pm and the transfer takes you back to your door.
Rates depend on the camp, the date and the number of guests, so we quote for each enquiry. Tell us your dates and how many you are, and we reply with a price.
